Just another day at work.
Listening to "Big girls don't cry" by Fergie on the radio.
Ever noticed that you get to like an average song more when you hear it like ten-thousand-gazillion times? Why is this?.
It must be because it sticks to you as you get more familiar with it. After hearing a song ten times, you might notice the eleventh time you start predicting what line is up next.
After a thousand times even the guy from Memento can sing along, without the need for an extra tattoo. After ten-thousand times he'd even get the timing right.
After ten-thousand-gazillion exposures, well you get the point, the song must have become part of you.
And something that's part of you or close to you will emotionally affect you much stronger than something that you can't relate to.
So, I guess this also explains why there are songs I sort of appreciated or tolerated at first hearing, and that make me cringe in pain now, when they come up on Sky Radio.
